Galileo Magazine “Ringworld Engineers” Collection

Issues 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Galileo featured a serialized presentation of “Ringworld Engineers” by famed science fiction author Larry Niven.

These are the descriptions from the table of content of each magazine:

Part I:

Twenty years have passed since Louis Wu and his kzin companion left the Ringworld. Now forced to return, they are given an impossible quest upon a world that is doomed. The author of the original classic gives its fans the sequel they have begged for…and more.

Part II:

On Louis Wu’s first visit to Ringworld he had to annihilate a city while trying to escape. This time he hoped to make amends. Even if it meant attacking a forest of carrion eating sunflowers capable of incinerating a ship—or a man—with focused beams of light.

Part III:

Abandoned by Chmeee, Louis Wu used his supply of rare superconductor to bribe his way into the floating city’s archives. There had to be a record of the hidden repair center, but even if there weren’t he had reached a decision. He would prevent the Ringworld from falling into the sun, or die trying.

Part IV:

At this point, Louis Wu has burned out the ship’s hyperdrive as part of his desperate plan to save the Ringworld from crashing into its sun. He has not only destroyed everybody’s chances of returning to Earth, but now they are doomed as well as marooned.

This collection features 4 individual issues. Quarto 8 1/2 x 11″ magazine, approx. 96 pages each, wire saddle stitched, newsprint interior stock, stiff color illustrated wraps. A fine, clean, unread set, with minimal shelf wear but some marginal rubbing from prolonged storage, binding tight, paper light to moderately yellowed.
